Sex Before Marriage

Just thought it would be a good idea to make a mini debate every now and then, so from now on i will make one. Its not gonna be a set debate, where i make it every week, or every 2 weeks. If we are already debating one subject, anyone may post another debate, just as long as it hasnt been debated already, and just as long as there arent more than, lets say 3? debates going already..

Is sex before marriage ok or not?
Should someone who is above the legal age, or at the legal age for having sex be able to do so before marriage? Or should they have to wait?
Why should they ahve to wait if they are at the legal age? Its up to them if they want to have sex before marriage, isnt it? And surely they should be able to do so if they want..
Why should they have to wait until they are married to have sex?

First, I'd just like to say that the "legal" age for sex in the US is 18 (And I know 16 in the UK). Although, I can't say that I know of being a written law anywhere, but people seem to think it is, so I'll just go with it. However, I have yet to see any teenagers from school getting arrested because of sex. I don't see the need for any "legal" ages, as they aren't upheld.

But back onto your topic, who said they have to wait? The bible states that it's a sin to have sex before marriage, so I do believe that's why it's traditionally frowned upon (obviously). However, except for some smaller countries of the world, I don't think it's illegal at all. So, again, I'll ask, who said they have to wait?

As you can see, I see no problem with it, so my vote goes to OK.

I never said that anyone said they have to wait before they are married. Its just some people, whether they are religious or not, think that sex before marriage is wrong. And that you shouldnt have sex untill you are married because you will become a 'whore' or 'slut' or whatever..
But i agree with you about it being ok before marriage. Just as long as the people understand what can happen if they do have sex, and what can happen if they dont use precaution etc.

OMG, the Granny says you should wait , for the person you are going to marry, I know its old fashion and everything, but its the right thing to do, and then when you take that oath , it really is for life, its hard to explain, you gotta get old before you understand it I guess.
